Course:    Automotive Collision Repair 134 - Body Panel Repair
Automotive Collision Repair 140 - Advanced Collision Repair - Estimating
Time:  Tuesday through Friday 1:15 P.M. - 6:45 P.M.
A five week course starts February 9, 2010. Ends March 19, 2010.
Last day to drop 9/19/09.

Introduction:  This course focuses on the proper repair and refinishing of automobiles to industry standards.
Objectives:   Automotive Collision Repair 134 - Body Panel Repair
At the end of this class you will be able to:
  • Refinish with primers and top coats

  • Repair and replace body panels

  • Replace body parts and align them

Automotive Collision Repair 140 - Advanced Collision Repair - Estimating
At the end of this class you will be able to:

  • Operate a computer

  • Set up estimating software profiles

  • Read and prepare computerized collision estimates 

Student Learning Outcomes Automotive Collision Repair 134 - Body Panel Repair
     
Students will understand the techniques of outer body panel repairs, replacements and adjustments.  Students will remove, repair, and replace steel / aluminum / SMC / plastic body panels, doors, deck lids, hoods, adjust and align to manufacturers' specifications.

Automotive Collision Repair 140 - Advanced Collision Repair - Estimating
    
Students will create damage reports, negotiate with customer, body technician, and insurance company and oversee proper repair of vehicle to safe OEM standards.  Students will be able to utilize estimating software to create damage reports.  Students will be able to demonstrate proper analysis of structural and non-structural vehicle damage.  Students will properly identify vehicles.
 

Text:

DuPont Product Data Sheets will be downloaded from the Internet.  Computer estimating software will be provided.

Evaluation: 

This course will be based on the following criteria,

  • Attendance and lab participation 50% of final grade
  • Assignments 10% of final grade
  • Notebook 10% of Final Grade
  • SP2 Safety Certification 10% of final grade
  • Test 20% of final grade

Final Grades will be based on the following percentages

                            100 - 90 = A

                              89 - 80 = B

                              79 - 70 = C

                              69 - 60 = D

                              59 - 0   = F
