Nissan Corporation / Donation
The Nissan Corporation recently donated a 1999 Infinity G20 to the Automotive Technology Program here at Los Angeles Trade- Technical College.  It will be utilized as an educational learning tool in the emissions laboratory clean air car course taught by Mr. Kelly.  Eli Jaramillo, a very active Advisory board member played an important role in the acquisition of the vehicle.  Pictured at the right are Ms. Leige Henderson, Vice President of Academic Affairs, Mr. Bhavin Udeshi, Dealer Parts and Service Manager Infinity West Region, and Mr. Bruce Schulman, Executive Manager Infinity Santa Monica.  Laurie Bembinster, Specialist Infinity Model Line, was also instrumental in the team effort. Our Automotive Technology Department is very gracious.
Thank you.

DuPont Automotive Learning and Development Center
The Automotive Collision Class was invited for a tour of the DuPont Automotive Learning and Development Center.  This Pomona facility is one of four national training centers for DuPont Automotive.  Tony Valdez, Training Coordinator and Ken McDiarmid, Instructor, administered the tour.  They stressed the fact that computers were becoming an everyday part of our industry.  Today’s painter acquires paint formulas using ColorNet, a computerized paint mixing system.  Computerized weight scales are used for pouring paint formulas.  Spectrophotometers are used for color matching and Vindicator is a new software system used to find variances in color formulas.
